Munnar is one of the most exotic hill station destinations in South India and is a major tourism center in Kerala. Munnar is well known for its scenic beauty which is mainly due to the huge hills and tea plantations. The foggy hills of Munnar is a great treat for the eyes and the green hills that surround the area add more to the beauty.

The best time to visit Munnar is during the winter season when you can enjoy a chilling experience. During the winter season, Munnar becomes more beautiful as the hills get covered with the snowy fog and the climate also becomes amazing.

The months from October to March is considered as the best time to visit Munnar as the temperature will be on the lower side making it cool enough for the travelers to enjoy their visit. The Months from June to September is not considered as an ideal time for planning your travel to Munnar as Kerala will be under the influence of Monsoon season. During the monsoon season, there will be heavy rain throughout and as a result, you will not be able to go out and explore the beauty of Munnar in a better way. There will also be dangers such as flood and landslide during the monsoon season and it is better to avoid your trip to Munnar during the rainy season.

The Hanging Bridge at Kolencherry, Kerala

Last week I just had to visit a place named Kolencherry in the Ernakulam District in  Kerala for some personal needs. Kolencherry is an ancient town in Kerala and lies between Muvattupuzha and Kochi. It is  a moderately busy town, and while I was there I got an opportunity to go to the more rural areas of the city along with my friend.

My friend told me that he will take me to a place where I can witness something special. After travelling around 4 kilometers from Kolencherry, we reached a placed  named Thammanimattom. I was surprised to see a amazing piece of architecture in the form of  a hanging bridge across the Muvattupuzha river.

The hanging bridge is narrow in size and one can take a walk from one side of the bridge to the other side.  When I was there there were hardly more than 20 visitors on the spot and this really made me understand the fact that this attractions is still unexplored by the people.

The hanging bridge at Thammanimattom is a good and calm picnic spot and one can even take a shower in the river below. The Muvattupuzha river below the bridge is relatively safe and not too deep. So you can easily take a bath while on your trip to this place.

The Ernakulam district is home to some of the most eco friendly travel spots in Kerala and this place is very much eco friendly and provides you an amazing feeling. There is also a Toddy shop just before the bridge where you can enjoy Toddy along with some typical food that are available only in the Toddy shops of Kerala.

The presence of the toddy shop might be an issue when we think about the female travellers as they might not feel comfortable with the presence of the shop. But for the male travellers, this is an exciting place and you can rarely see such an amazing short travel destination in Kerala.

So if you happen to pass by Kolencherry, then you should visit this place if you have some time to spare.

Travel – The Best Way to Refresh Your Mind and Body

Travelling is something that we all love to have in our busy life schedule. Actually we all are stuck with our busy life schedule that we are not at all able to take care about the well being of our mind and body. Actually our mind and body are working continuously for long hours and this is where we need to have some rest. In India, most of the people does not have travel in their yearly schedule and are very much busy with their jobs and other works. This results in majority of the people becoming mentally and physically tired during most part of the year.

As we all know the people in the western countries are very much keen and interested in making a travel trip atleast once in a year. This will be either along, or with friends and family. Most of the westerners prefer to travel out of their countries and they make sure to spend a good chunk of their earnings for travel activities. They really enjoy their life and after a vacation travel they become very much physically and mentally refreshed.

A travel can bring a special feeling to your mind that can last for a longer period. The younger generation in India is somewhat different and they are not mainly concentrating on earning too much, rather they are willing to spend their time and money for various vacation travels in India as well as to other countries. They know the importance of travelling, and they plan their travel and tour activities in advance and also manages to arrange the money for that.

Even you do not have the budget to travel to a foreign country, there are plenty of travel destinations in India, where you can plan your vacation. The major vacation spots in India are even visited by people from other countries. Living in India makes us less aware about the importance of the travel places in India and their place in the global tourism map. First we should identify the real gems that are near to us and visit them for a better travel experience.

The major travel destinations in India are popular throughout the world and the amount of foreign travellers coming to India speaks it all.  India has a lot of different and varied travel attractions to offer and this is mainly because India is a land of varied culture, environment, geography and other factors. You cannot point any other countries in the world that has such a varied and diverse set of places.

If you travel to the northern part of India their you can see different travel attractions such as the Taj Mahal, Red Fort, Qutub Minar, Jantar Mantar, Udaipur Palce etc. The travel destinations of north India mainly comprises of Delhi, Agra, Jaipur, Shimla, Srinagar, Manali, Kulu, Nainital, Jaipur, Udaipur etc. The western part of India have attractions such as beaches, forts, palaces, hill stations that are found in Goa, Maharashtra, Gujarat etc.

In south India you can see the amazing travel attractions such as the beaches, backwaters, hill stations, waterfalls etc in Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka. Towards the eastern parts of India you can visit the places and travel attractions in Manipur, Arunachal Pradesh, Orissa, West Bengal etc.

So it is not a matter of the lack of travel attractions in India, rather it is just a fact that most of the people are not aware about these. These places are very much affordable to visit and does not need to make other formal travel documents. The vacation spots of India is on par with any other attractions around the world and I am still confused on why we are not able to realise this fact.

Hope that we identify the fact atleast now and also plan a travel trip atleast once in a year with our friends or family. This will help us to relieve the extra stress and pressure from the body and make our mind calm and relaxed.
